Battle for Folsom Ridge
June 28th 2014
Durango Colorado
OpOrd
Situation:
A number of years has passed since the Trukistan and Ironia war. There is peace in the region. High up in the mountains deep within Trukistan territory a plane carrying an Ironian diplomat has crashed. The diplomat was the only survivor, he carried with him special documents outlining Ironia’s next offensive move to continue to obtain property/oil in Trukistan. Trukistan heard about the plane crash and dispatched a team to find the documents. Ironia panicked when the diplomat did not arrive and also dispatched a team to recover the documents. The dimplomat has since passed away due to lack of food and water. In his attempt to hide the documents he has locked them in his briefcase and hidden it. The only way to open it is to follow the objectives listed below.
Objectives (For Both teams):
There are many objectives in play for Battle for Folsom Ridge:
1. Each team will be assigned a cell phone. They must obtain the cell phone and use it to take pictures of the documents.
a. Each cell phone is located and held by the opposing team. The opposing team may defend it, but may not move it, turn it on or use it. Once the attacking team has their phone, they may move it back to their FOB etc.
b. The cell phone has a notepad and a camera. Users need to figure out how to open notepad as it will give a vague map coordinate in which the briefcase resides (ie ECHO - 2). The user must also learn how to use the camera to take pictures.
c. Once a Player has their phone they are the keeper of the phone. The only way the keeper loses the phone is if they die AND bleed out. If the keeper dies and is not medic’d in the time given, they must leave the phone in the place of death. This is the only time another player may become the keeper. If opposing team finds it, they may not move it, but may defend it from getting picked back up.
2. There will be 3 (more or less, I will let players know exactly how many at time of briefing) chalked number codes written on rocks throughout the AO. These codes are the lock to the briefcase. The first number is the sequence, then next number(s) are the actual code (could look something like this: 1-35, 2-45, 3-89… so your code would be 3-5-4-5-8-9 to open the combo lock. If you can’t figure it out then you need to think harder… while getting shot at).
a. Once you have all the codes and the sequence in order, you can unlock the briefcase.
3. There is only one briefcase in the AO. The briefcase is NOT to move. It will remain in the same spot the entire game. This ensures that both teams have a chance to get to it. If you find the briefcase, great, mark it on the map but you MUST leave it in place.
In a nutshell, here are your objectives in order:
1. Get your team’s cell phone
2. Find all the chalk codes and put them in order
3. open the cell phone notepad and see what grid coordinate the briefcase is in
4. Find briefcase, unlock it, use cell phone to take pictures
5. Whichever team calls Admin first to show pictures of the documents wins the game.
This game will require you to use your brain, work together as a team, work under pressure all while having fun.
Side Missions: There will be 1-2 side missions for each Sider to hand out to squads. I will hand these out day of the mission.
Structure:
Each team will have a Commander. Teams will be divided up into squads (per registration).
LOGISTICS:
Points: Game is based on objectives. First team to take pictures of the documents wins.
Deductions: Teams will be docked points if they are not safe (eye pro removal in AO, not minding MED’s etc). If a team has un-sportsmen like conduct, team will be docked points.
Admin: I have the right to change the game as needed for ebb and flow. I will contact each commander and discuss options.
SPECIFIC MEDIC RULES:
Medics: EVERY player will be asked to bring their own 2 ace bandages (or strips of cloth). There will be one medic for every 8-10 players (or depending on amount of players). To medic a dead person, wrap bandage around arm. Downed players may NOT SPEAK. the ONLY thing they are allowed to say is “medic”.
HITS:
If a player is hit, they must sit with deadrag in place (or move to a safe spot NEARBY if in the line of fire) for 5 minutes. This is the bleed-out time. If a medic cannot bandage player within the 5 minutes player must return to FOB and wait another 5 minutes. Once completed player may head back into AO and will put their bandage back in their bag to be used again. If player is still in bleed-out time, opposing players may "search" the bleedout victim. To do this, simply put your hand on the bleedout victim and say "I am searching you". The bleed out victim must give up any and all parts/objectives, THIS INCLUDES SIDE MISSION OBJECTIVES. If the bleed out victim is carrying out a side mission and is "searched" he must give up the side mission documents. Side mission is then no longer accessible to the dead player. Captured side mission intel can be played out by opposing team for additional points.
SQUADS/COMMAND: It is up to the players to create and manage squads. Command and following orders will be highly recommended but not enforced. To ensure team success it is recommended to follow command and use to teamwork.
